Where does the time go?

Happy Thanksgiving first off! Didn't get it together in time so won't be celebrating here, but hopefully next year we will be doing it in grand style with our very own turkey, reared here on our little small holding.

In the meanwhile, this is what is happening here...

Pigs are getting fat...

In fact, I would really appreciate it if this year you could sing..."Christmas is coming, the PIGS are getting fat, please put a penny in the old mans hat..." etc. It would make me happy to know you are thinking about us and the pigs. We are selling them by the half pig and have already sold our three halves available. We are keeping a half for ourselves and the third pig we are going to keep for a while longer. They are loving all the apples we have been giving them and still make a right noise when it comes to feeding time. Luckily our neighbours have double glazing and can't hear them.

We have also gotten some new chickens...

They are beautiful and I love them. I asked Martin if we could name them and he said no. Meanie. The old chickens are not impressed...

Ginger chicken spends all day chasing the new chickens around pecking at them, and black chicken just follows her lead. It is rather sad. In the mornings the new chickens won't come out of their perch until we have open up the run and let the old chickens out. Martin spends a fair amount of time trying to give the new chickens pep talks. The speech commonly starts off with...:you are bigger than ginger chicken, stand up for yourself!" I look at ginger chicken totally different now...

In my head she is yelling..."THIS IS MY HOUSE!"

And finally, Autumn has finally arrived with a bang!

As has winter...

There was a very hard frost a couple of nights ago. I didn't like it!
