Election

Today has been historic in Britain, but I feel absolutely no connection to it. All I can think is, dammit, there goes the pound! I think it is because I am not allowed to vote that I feel no connection to the election, but plenty of people here do. A hung Parliament-big news! It will be very interesting to see what happens. I think the problem here is people want change, they just aren't sure they want it to be conservative. How do you vote for change when you are not offered any viable alternatives. Do you vote for change or do you vote for same. Difficult. It is a little disappointing the Lib Dems didn't do better, but I think people didn't want to take votes away from Labor. I seem to remember some Bush elections where Americans were presented with the same opportunity and look what happened there-disaster! Hopefully whatever happens will result in something positive.
