I have seen the sun!

Martin commented last night that I looked refreshed and alive (or something to the effect) and I had to explain it is because my face has seen the sun and I am no longer pasty white! I feel like I look tired and worn all winter and then here comes summer and I look youthful again. It is a good feeling. Although yes, I am careful about the sun and wear sunscreen. Really! I even wear my giants cap on my runs although I need to go find a visor as the cap is black and I am convinced it attracts the sun and makes me hotter. This rambling is all due to the fact that it has been hot the last two weeks. Really hot. And you can go out for the day and not worry about bringing an extra layer. Although I say this and now it has turned cold and cloudy again. We are hopeful it is just one last stint of miserableness before the real summer kicks in and that we will not have another crappy summer!

The increase in sunlight has also meant that the "garden" we have planted is sprouting and all sorts of neat herbs and vegetables are growing. I am a little obsessed with the idea of growing our own plants but I really enjoy it! I can't wait until they get big and healthy and start producing things I can eat! I want to do the vegi box again but I live in a big building of flats and I know that if they left a box of food outside my door it would get stolen. So, I am just growing my own. It has encouraged me to try and cook more. I like cooking but getting to use my own herbs makes it so much more fun for some reason. I encourage you all to grow your own and see what all this fun is about. (although I know some of you already do!)
