I was beginning to wonder

I was starting to get a little sad that we had received several Christmas Cards from Martin's family and friends and none from my own. But then today I received several cards and even a Christmas package! This made me very happy which is no small feat as I am lying in bed with the worst cold I think I have ever had. I thought earlier today I was feeling better but no, I am not. I hope it goes away soon! I have a fridge full of bon bons waiting to be coated in chocolate!

Today was also made better by a job offer! I have been offered a role at an investment bank and I am pleased to say I have accepted. It is very similar to the role I had at Credit Suisse and I am very excited. A wonderful way to start the new year. Now I have to tell the BL which makes me a little sad as they have also offered me a wonderful opportunity. I just think though this other role suits me better. We'll worry about that in the New Year.

It might not look like it...

...but it is snowing!

This was last night taken from St Martin's in the Field. We went to a Christmas Carol concert there and when we left it was snowing!

And when we woke up it was snowing again! They said we were to get half a foot last night but this does not look like half a foot. More snow is predicted or the weekend and it could be my first white Christmas!
In other good news I had a second interview for a role at a investment bank and the BL this week offered me a job. So one way or another I will be employed in the New Year! Whoo hoo. Glad 2010 will not start out like 2009.

A Lovely Coastal Walk

Martin and I decided to make the most of the weather and went for a lovely seven mile walk along the Jurassic Coast. We started at Lulworth Cove and made our way along the cliff edge. The picture above gives a good view of where we started and the path we would take...

This is Durdle Door, a natural rock formation. It may look like a nice warm day but it was in fact very cold. We must return here in the summer when it is less cold and sitting on the beach with a picnic might be possible.

Even though it was cold we worked up quite a sweat climbing up, and down, these hills.

The views though were well worth it.

This is just a 30 minute drive from the flat. Come visit me and I will take you along!Although this walk was marked "strenuous" and I would have to agree with that description.

And back again to Lulworth Cove. A lovely day!

The Weather

Here is a typical weather forecast in England...

"Outbreaks of light rain at first, followed by a band of heavy rain from the west later this evening. Later broken cloud and showers, sometimes heavy, will follow the rain. Minimum temperature 4 °C."

Another way to say it would be...

It is going to rain. Alot.
