A Baker's Dream Come True!

As you may know, I really enjoy baking. However, baking is not so much fun when you own a crappy hand held mixer that claims to have several speeds but really only has one. This speed is so fast it cause flour, sugar and whatever else you might have in the bowl to fly everywhere. It is especially annoying when you are trying to blend together something with powdered sugar.

So as a Christmas present my mom said I could purchase myself a proper mixer. How exciting! However I haven't had a chance to go out and find one. Purchasing one on the Internet did not seem wise. This past week I was trying to make lemon bars and after swearing up a storm I told Martin this weekend would be a good weekend to go to the nice kitchen supply store by our house and get myself a mixer. Having to frequently witness my tantrums and frustration over baking him tasty treats he finally agreed that yes, I really DO need a kitchen aid mixer and very kindly agreed to put the rest of the money towards getting my very own as an early birthday present.

Not wanting to lose momentum we went to the shop and I am now the proud owner of this...

I LOVE IT!. Seriously, baking with this is a totally different experience. I have already made blueberry muffins and a carrot cake. It is so much easier to use and I don't have to struggle and things mix together like they should and I will have it for the rest of my life. I am a very happy girl!

I know it has been ages since I posted. I can't blog at work and when I get home I don't like to be on the computer. I have been trying to take video of the chickens but have been having issues with the camera so hopefully I can get that sorted soon.

Things are well in England. Spring has finally arrived and the weather is a bit warmer. The job is going pretty well and I am enjoying it for the most part. Not so keen not be able to look out a window all day but everyone is very nice and the work is interesting. Looking forward to Easter weekend as we get a four day weekend and I am really looking forward the time off. Then just a little over a month before we are off to Turkey for two weeks. I'll be hot for two whole weeks! Yay! AND THEN, our trip to America. We will be coming over in November in time for Thanksgiving. I can't wait! We have booked our tickets and although it seems a shame not to go when it will be warm I thought it would be nice to go when all the kids are out of school and people will be getting together. Can't wait to see you all!
