Good News!

So looked like everyone did a good job of keeping their fingers crossed as Martin and I got word this week our financing has been approved and we are all set to buy the farm! A lot of things still need to happen so until those contracts have been signed, we must go slowly slowly, but, hopefully everything will go through without a hitch and the farm will be ours in 6 to 8 weeks! We are very excited!

Here are some pics of our new home...

These are blue eggs laid by some of the rare breed chickens on site. We will be breeding these chickens and then selling to people like Martin and I who have chickens as a hobby. Blue eggs come at a premium price!

This is the field we will initially put our pigs in. Nice and flat and plenty of space...

This is our apple orchard! Doesn't look like much now but apparently we will be overwhelmed come autumn when they all fall to the ground. Will be great for the pigs and a great area for our friends and family to camp!

These are just some of the 3000 chickens on site. They roam outside and go in to eat and lay eggs. Nice and clean and modern.

This is the sign in front of our drive. £2.40 for medium eggs, £2.80 for extra large. The eggs are kept in an honesty hut where people put their money in the box and take the eggs. They sale 30% of their eggs this way. I can't wait to see what else we can sell!

This is the poly tunnel where we will grow courgettes, tomatoes and cucumbers, then sell in our honesty hut...

And this is a nice view of the surrounding area. It is beautiful and we are very very excited!!!

Why not a mini-farmer's market in the "honesty hut" each saturday?

Congratulations Amber!! So exciting. I was wondering about the 3,000 chickens, GADS!! Who takes care of the coop?, and what do you do with any left over eggs? Thats a lot of eggs, and chickens! Are the chickens for eggs only? Looks Beautiful, can't wait to hear more about it.
