PRINCE

I missed Prince when he played in the Bay Area. I was upset. Who wouldn't want to see this musical genius live? Well now I am almost glad I missed him in SF because he is playing all of his hits, and we have been assured hits only, in London and I have tickets. Yay yay yay yay! I am so excited! I can't wait to see how tiny he is. And from my seats I am sure he will look very tiny. Who cares? Can you dig it? Whoop whoop.

I went to the Museum of Natural History today. It was okay. Geared towards kids and there were a lot of them around, but it was still cool to see all the dinosaurs. I don't think I will ever have to go back but I am glad I went once. Kind of like the London Dungeon.

Knitting Fun

Mitch Braff if you read my blog than advert your eyes now as these are presents for your current and future children. I am so excited about them though I had to post them.

I found the pattern for this on the internet and have actually been working on it for a while but now that I am finished with all my papers I was able to finish it. There are a couple of mistakes but hopefully no one will notice. I put on one of my very special made by Amber tags. Sadly, this is not machine washable so not sure how really useful it will be. (I still need to press it as well)

This hat was a good learning project as it was my first attempt working with colour and I had to crochet the trim which I have never done before. I felt proud I was able to teach myself and I am almost 100% certain I did it correctly. It looks even cuter in person. I am in love with it.

Now I am going to work on a vest and I guess pick up the cable sweater. I am less motivated by that project now as I won't be able to wear it for a while. And I made a mistake and I am too lazy to rip it out. And that folks is what I have been doing since finishing my course work. I need to write my proposal for my dissertation and work on my CV but that isn't as much fun as sitting on the couch on a rainy day listening to music and knitting.

London Marathon

Last weekend Brian came into town to run the London Marathon. Congratulations Stinky on a fantastic race! He did it in 3 hours and 2 minutes which is phenomenal. I didn't get to see much of the race as I was trying to be good and stayed at home until the end so I could get some course work done, hence the only picture I have is of him after he finished. The vibe in Central London was fantastic though and I did watch some of it on television. A sea of people bobbing along at the start. It was amazing! It truly inspired me and convinced me to do the Dublin marathon in October. I have signed up and everything. I can't wait! It is such a great feeling of accomplishment at the end when you have just done something you have trained months for. I was bummed I didn't get to experience that in London but can't wait to do it in Dublin!

I have just finished my last piece of coursework. Yay! Well, I do have to read through it one more time and complete the bibliography but whatever, it is written. Now I get to read for fun! Although I do still have to write a dissertation...
