Yippee

I got the place and I get to move out of this hell hole today! I am so excited. I have to pay six months rent up front which might be a bt tricky but who cares-that means I won't have to worry about rent for six months. I may be off line for a bit as I am not sure if the place will have internet but I will post again as soon as I can.

Yay!!!

Great news about the Mexican food! Oh, congratulations on the apartment too. Prety impressive - finding one so fast in a foreign country and all. I mean a Mexican restaurant of course - anybody can find an apartment in London :-)

Chelsea rocks! They are a local team for you now. You should enjoy "football" now because it isn't the same in the U.S. Go to some games, learn the songs (probably can learn the songs in a pub). I only went to one game during my stay there. Standing room only. We had to clean out the car so we didn't accidentally display the wrong colors - although I hear the hooliganism isn't nearly as bad now as it was in the mid 1980s. You can't do wrong with Chelsea. Arsenal too (but definitely not both). If you want to see some local boys you should root ("support" as they say) Fulham - two Americans usually play for that team. Not entirely sure where you live but if you live close to the tube I'm sure you can get to wherever.

I'm kind of thinking about how I can visit... :-) Congrats on the apartment.

Love

Wow, congratulatins on your success. I'm not sure if I understand what is happening though. It sounds like you will have your own apartment. Or will you have a room in a flat? Or something else? I'm confused!

Yeah, I agree with Pam... you're moving in with other people who are moving in at the same time ("flat mates")?
Whatever, at least that hurdle is over. It's so stressful not knowing basic things like where you'll be able to sleep every night and if you can leave your computer and digital camera in your room and not be worried about theft... ;-)
Amber if you're looking for more free things to do, Laura and I were at Kensington Gardens (I think) where the Queen Mum used to live. Apparently near all the royal residences there are designated driveways where the royals enter/exit. (The security guards may be a tip-off!) The driveways are usually marked by royal watchers who just stand there with cameras hoping to catch someone on film. The day we were there was the day the divorce with Diana was finalized so it was pretty easy to see which driveway was the one! The chats with the locals who are royal watchers was MOST entertaining.

Hi Amber, well...I have to say this is a whole new world,..and what a big world!! this blog thing, am still trying to figure it all out. Congratulations on accomplishing so much in the short time you have been there. I never doubted you for a minute, knew it would work out. By the way...who is this stinky guy? You probably have talked about him, but not with that name attached. Poor guy, I would hate to have to live my life explaining to everyone that nickname. Might be wise if he does what he can to be rid of that, ha!!! Have been thinking about you, sure your excited about starting school. Will try to keep up with your, this, blog thing. Its really a great venue, take care, Love, Maryanne
